Fiberglass Pools

Fiberglass pools are one-piece units created in a factory using a pre-designed mold. They involve layers of fiberglass material woven and fused together to form an incredibly tough shell. These pool shells come complete with benches, stairs, and in some models, built-in beach or tanning areas, and hot tubs. They come in a wide variety of designs, ranging from hot tubs to large-size models up to 45 feet long.

These fiberglass pool shells are an ideal choice for those seeking a long-lasting product, an efficient installation process, and reduced maintenance costs. The design and durability have significantly improved since DFP first started and are now available from multiple manufacturers in various shapes and colours. We at Durham Fibreglass Pools have established strong relationships with the top manufacturers renowned for their quality workmanship.

The colour selection varies among manufacturers, offering a range of beautiful blues, whites, and even custom colours for those seeking a unique feature. The white resembles white sand beaches, while the blues evoke memories of various lakes and pools.

The Benefits of Fiberglass Pools

One of the main advantages of an inground fiberglass pool is the shortened installation time frame. With proper preparation and minimal surprises, these one-piece shells can be seamlessly fitted into the excavation, filled with water, and surrounded by backfill within a couple of days. At Durham Fibreglass Pools, our experienced team ensures efficient and precise installation processes.

Fiberglass pools boast a longer life span than concrete or vinyl alternatives, with unmatched durability, even against the playful antics of family pets. While concrete pools require resurfacing and vinyl liners need replacing every 10-20 years on average, fiberglass shells can last decades with proper maintenance. That doesn’t mean there’s a catch though, good maintenance plays a big part with anything, including pools. Additionally, DFP works exclusively with manufacturers offering a 25-year warranty on their shells.

The non-porous surface of fiberglass shells provides a smooth, luxurious feel for swimmers and minimizes water and chemical loss. This feature reduces the need for excessive chemical treatments, making water balance maintenance easier and more cost-effective. To further assist our clients, Durham Fibreglass Pools now offers full-service maintenance options.

With an average R-value of 7, fiberglass pool shells are well-insulated compared to other pool types. This insulation ensures that heated water retains its temperature longer, ultimately saving on heating costs. Investing in a fiberglass pool installed by Durham Fibreglass Pools offers long-term benefits for your family’s enjoyment and financial savings.

Installing pools is a dirty job. We’ll be honest - your yard is going to be a mess. There will be mud and dust until it’s done but, DFP does its best to keep your yard the tidiest dirt on the street.

Beautiful design, durable finish, long-term savings, and a shorter installation period, make fiberglass shells a perfect low-maintenance product that provides a high-end feel for your home. Professional experience, personal commitment, integrity, and old-school family values, make Durham Fibreglass Pools a wise choice for your pool installation.

Let DFP help build a backyard you won’t want to leave!

Fiberglass or Fibreglass? Both are correct! Our choice in spelling reflects our seniority in the Canadian market. When DFP began the fiberglass pool industry was relatively new to Canada so we were walking in uncharted territory but felt it was important to spell it according to our Canadian heritage. We thought we were targeting the Canadian market, unfortunately, spell check and autocorrect agree with the Americans but that’s okay, our Canadian humility can take it.
